Join Bike Sunnyvale for a fun family-friendly ride through Sunnyvale with our theme “The Sunnyvale Halloween Crow Ride.”
As you may know the Sunnyvale Crows became national celebrities and were in the news with Mayor Larry Klein in 2022. So THEN we held our first ever Crow Ride in honor of, celebration of, whatever you want to call it, THE SUNNYVALE CROWS!
We do our research to determine some of their favorite hangouts and will have a ride that showcases both crows AND Sunnyvale residents’ Halloween decorations. We even try to make the route map look like a crow, but the route changes every year so we’ll see.
This has become an annual family tradition!
Feel free to wear your best “Crow” and Halloween attire! We encourage you to wear
This social bike ride will be led by seasoned Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition volunteers who are trained on safety and group riding. This ride is suitable for all skill levels, including new riders and children. Children under 12 need to be accompanied by a responsible adult over 18 and ride a bicycle without training wheels.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: The start/finish location will be Plaza del Sol, where the crows often hang out en masse.
Our route (under 10 miles in Sunnyvale) is TBD — we will send it to participants shortly before the event. We map out the route in the week immediately before the ride so we can find cool crow hiding locations and awesome Halloween surprises. Speaking of surprises…at the end of the ride this year’s ride we will have some door prizes provided by local businesses. :-).
The Sunnyvale Crows… why beat em when you can join them, and then create an event around them that supports the community? We CAW CAW upon all of you to come have fun with us!
Date + Time: October 26, 2024, Saturday, 5:30-8:30PM. Please arrive punctually by 5:30 PM to check in and listen to safety instructions before we roll.
Location: Plaza del Sol
Please bring:
– Helmet
– High visibility clothing
– Bike lights – the ride is set to end right at Sunset, but we should always be prepared
– Water bottle
– Flat repair (if you have it)
