Be part of a guided bicycle ride visiting sites and neighborhoods profiled in the newly-launched website/online exhibition “Before Silicon Valley: Mexican Agricultural and Cannery Workers of Santa Clara County, 1920 – 1960”
The ~10 mile ride will share the history and significance of 5+ sites in San José important to the CIty’s Mexicano, Mexican-American, Chicana/o/x community community in Downtown, the Gardner and Mayfair neighborhoods. The ride will end at City Hall, just in time for the Before SIlicon Valley Tardeada, an afternoon of historic music, film screenings and more to celebrate the online exhibition’s launch.
Open to all ages, the route will prioritize calm streets and/or those with bike lanes.
