On March 7th we are celebrating International Women’s Day! This is a day to recognize all the accomplishments that women have achieved over the years, to address the inequities that still exist, and to discuss solutions that need to be developed as we move forward.
Next on the agenda is that 2024 marks 10 years since our founding!
Since 2014, we have dedicated our efforts to empowering the oppressed and vulnerable woman with knowledge. Our objective remains the same, yet we have grown substantially in scope and outreach. Today, our global efforts are centered in Uganda where we are working in 4 districts, multiple clinics and 100+ villages. Our Rose Uganda Fellowship was initiated at the beginning of COVID and has entered our 4 year of a very successful program. Late 2023, we had orientation of 20 new and continuing fellows that are working in assigned regions throughout Uganda. We pride ourselves on our founding principles of human rights, social justice, and equality. Our fellows represent a diverse group of indigenous Ugandans, speak multiple dialects and are dedicated to empower the rural poor with knowledge about healthcare and nutrition. We are inclusive and not only welcome persons with disabilities, but encourage leadership in our growing organization.
Throughout the years, our programs have expanded from Menstrual Health & Hygiene to embrace Antenatal/Neonatal Care, Mental Health, Sexual Reproductive Health, Disease Prevention, Nutrition, Agriculture, Vocational Skills Development, Computer Literacy and Economic Enterprise. Many of our educational programs have been developed by our working partner at Santa Clara University School of Engineering and College of Arts and Sciences Thanks to their efforts, they have helped us to achieve new heights with their innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing healthcare issues.
We hope you will take some time to meet some of those individuals that have contributed to our success and feel free to ask any questions about us. For more information, please visit: https://roseacademies.org.
